God’s Chosen People?
A S A CHILD (probably about 7 or 8), I remember being at a sort of Church camp. I remember the fun, and the different games we played, however, the only thing I remember of a theological nature was a particular doctrine. I was eating a small snack provided by the facility, consisting mainly of raisins and nuts, while a lady said that “the Jews are God’s people.” To me, this seemed very odd indeed because I had heard many times how Christians (like me) are God’s people (“Jesus loves the little children” etc.). And not only that, but I reckoned that if the Jews were God’s chosen people, why didn’t we become Jews instead of being Christians/believing on Jesus (Jews do not believe on Jesus for salvation!)? I disbelieved her instantly, knowing better. However, later with another churched individual, I questioned, “That lady said that the Jews are God’s chosen people?” The individual instantly responded, “That’s what the Bible says.” Wow! What an incomplete explanation because of a faulty theology! What a disturbing impression to leave in a child’s mind!
The Bible also says that, “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble” (Job 14:1). But if one were to just quote that Scripture—calling it doctrine—it would be very misleading!
After reading the entire Bible, it is now obvious that the fallacious and misleading quote, “the Jews are God’s chosen people,” requires expounding upon. Actually, the bloodline Jews WERE God’s chosen people, but after they crucified their Messiah, the Bible ONLY talks about we Christians (Spiritual Jews/New Israel) being God’s people now—because we choose Him!
They Rejected Jesus...
“MY PEOPLE are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge [this also seems to apply very well to the Jews rejection of Jesus], I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” (Hosea 4:6).
W. G. Barrett (in “The Biblical Illustrator”) says about this passage concerning “The lack of knowledge:” “The statement of the text is no exaggeration. Look at the Jewish nation. The whole nation was a school, and the law was their schoolmaster to bring them to Christ. But it failed--utterly failed--to accomplish this. The enmity of the human heart came out amongst the Jewish people.”
Jesus Rejects Them!
MARTIN LUTHER SAID, “Therefore a Christian should be content and not argue with the Jews. But if you have to or want to talk with them, do not say any more than this: ‘Listen, Jew, are you aware that Jerusalem and your sovereignty, together with your temple and priesthood, have been destroyed for over 1,460 years?’” Of course he said that in 1542, so today it has been about 2,000 years! But the truth is, they have no temple, no high priest, no sacrifices, and hence, no present covenant with God!
He goes on to say, “For such ruthless wrath of God is sufficient evidence that they assuredly have erred and gone astray. Even a child can comprehend this. For one dare not regard God as so cruel that he would punish his own people SO LONG, SO TERRIBLY, SO UNMERCIFULLY, and in addition, keep silent, comforting them neither with words nor with deeds, and fixing no time limit and no end to it. Who would have faith, hope, or love toward such a God? Therefore this work of wrath is proof that the Jews, surely rejected by God, are no longer his people, and neither is He any longer their God. This is in accord with Hosea 1:9, ‘Call his name “Not my people,” for YOU ARE NOT MY PEOPLE and I am not your God.’ Yes, unfortunately, this is their lot, truly a terrible one. They may interpret this as they will; we see the facts before our eyes, and these do not deceive us.”
Some view the “Jews” as a special people because they believe that our Holy Bible says so (even the New Testament, especially in Revelation). However, let us look at it from the Jews’ point of view. What do they believe about our Bible (New Testament)? Do they think it uplifts them as a nation? NO! They believe it to be blasphemy against them AND God.
SANHEDRIN CH. 10 (p. 256 of “The Babylonian Talmud,” PC version) says, “GEMARA: Said R. Elazar in the name of R. Oshia: One is not considered a rebelling judge unless he decides upon a thing the sources of which are in the Scripture and the explanation is by the scribes, and there is something to add. However, if it is added, it harms the whole matter…according to E. Jehudah (who maintains the four portions in question are to be attached one to the other, see footnote).” And one considered the “rebelling judge”—one who adds any part of ANY of the four gospels—Jehudah, “maintains that he must not be tortured by postponing the execution, but must be put to death immediately after being sentenced…”
The footnote for this passage (p. 256:1b) goes on to say, “Our book, mentioned above, is written in the language of the Talmud, and the very essence of this strange passage is that this Mishna was written after the Jewish Christians began to add to the four portions of the Scripture (viz.: Ex. xiii. 1-10; ibid., ibid. 11-17; Deut. vi. 4-9; and ibid. xi. 13-21) the first portion of John in the New Testament. For the sources from which we establish that so was the custom of the Jewish Christians in the first centuries, A.C...” So if you don’t understand that (the Talmud goes in circles many times, no doubt!), it is saying that anyone who adds any part of the Gospels to any of their books/laws etc. should immediately be EXECUTED. That is proof in writing of what they think of our Bible, our Jesus, and our beliefs!
AND AS A FURTHERANCE on this issue, the “Jews” of today are not bloodline descendants of Abraham, but genetically proven to be of generations of mixed blood; which means that one would not call those claiming to be Jews, “Jews” at all! These Khazars are just converts to Judaism, therefore, have no genetic ties to Judaism anyways. They tie themselves to Judaism while the basis of the Jewish religion in present day has its foundation on the rejection of Jesus as Messiah. If this were not true, they would accept those believing in Jesus as Lord; but they definitely do not do such a thing!
Edward Gibbon, in his book, “HISTORY OF THE DECLINE AND FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE” (1845) notes, “Moses of Chorene speaks of an invasion of Armenia by the KHAZARS [present day “Jews”] in the second century, l. ii. c. 62. M. St. Martin suspects them to be the same with the Hunnish nation of the Acatires or Agazzires. They are called by the Greek historians EASTERN TURKS; like the Madjars and other Hunnish or Finnish tribes, they had probably received some admixture from the genuine Turkish races. Ibn. Hankal (Oriental Geography) says that their language was like the Bulgarian, and considers them a people of Finnish or Hunnish race. Klaproth, Tabl. Hist. p. 268-273. Abel Remusat, Rech. sur les Langues Tartares, tom. I. p. 315, 316. St. Martin, vol. xi. p. 115.-M].”
Indeed these do not sound like bloodline Israelites, or Jews at all. It is important to remember that Judaism is a religion, and an antichrist, anti-true-God religion at that! Should we who worship the true God (and His Son Jesus Christ) esteem these God and Jesus-haters?
Too Late, Too Late?
This life, this life, a precious gift,
A fleeting moment, of heavenly assiduousness.
Something so special, but something so fragile,
Lasting a moment, then over FOREVER.
Forget not your heart’s plea,
Or His is urging voice: “Child come to Me!”
Do as He’s called, and preach His name,
Give Him honor, and His Kingdom you will attain.
Too late, too late, is tomorrow,
Where, o soul, will you go at burial?
Will our regret’s echo always be,
Or will our choices be exculpatory?
If one lives in Christ, the death is gain,
But absent of Him, resounds our bane.
Something hoped for, but not yet seen,
But the glow thereof, like light, beams off of things; Setting off their color for a display,
You see the reflections from the light that was made.
His works flow like billows of waves,
Going forth and forth until that great day.
That day is the judgment, when ALL will vouch,
What we neglected, and what we have done now.
God gives this one chance,
To make the right choices, to take our stand.
Our breath is momentary, then the wind,
All is gone, besides within.
Too late, too late,” will you state,
Or will it be manifest that you seized every day?
A moment is to be treasured, but some treasure it amiss,
They look at it like the moment as if theirs for a wish; But time will tell, and all shall know,
That moments wasted, shall be no more.
“Too late, too late!,” let that not be our choice,
And let us entertain not the devil’s convoys.
Be vexed not by those that mock,
For “Too late, too late!!!” shall be their eternal lot.
Eternity awaits thee, oh precious soul,
Obey Him now, and be made missional.
Heed not men, but Him approach,
Give Him your all, and His heart you will touch.
To those that repent not, eternity runs through,
Hell longs for more to consume.
All will give account on that day,
Repent and come to Him, or He will vindicate.
